April 30

10:29 a.m. A store employee in the 100 block on N. Pacific St. reported a vehicle in the parking lot running for a long period of time. Officers located the owner who was working in the area. The car was removed from the businesses parking lot. 

11:33 a.m. A vehicle was reported to police as being stalled out at the intersection of N. Pacific St. and Loop 564. Officers assisted the owners moving the vehicle out of the roadway. 

5:36 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Sue Lane to speak to a homeowner about appliances that had been removed from the house without the owner’s consent. While officers were on scene the tenant arrived and a verbal altercation took place. All parties were separated and advised to contact the justice of the peace as property dispute was determined to be a civil issue. 

May 1

5:17 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Turman St. when a man reported that items located in his carport had been moved around. After a check of the items in the carport was completed, the owner stated that nothing appeared to be missing. Officers checked the area and later issued a directed patrol form. 

11:10 a.m. Animal Control was dispatched to the Walmart parking lot to assist with a kitten that was found inside of a storm drain. The kitten was rescued and placed into a forever home. 

12:02 p.m. Dispatch received a call from both the husband and the wife in reference to a disturbance. Officers responded to the 300 block of W. McDonald St. Upon officers arrival both parties were talked to. Disturbance was determined to be verbal only. Both parties agreed to separate.

12:07 p.m. A gas drive off occurred in the 300 block of E. Broad St. when it was reported that a man left without paying for over $100 worth of gas. Officers were able to locate the man. The man returned to the store and paid for the gas. The man and store employee agreed it was an accident. 

12:40 p.m. Several officers assisted with a funeral procession that went in and around the Mineola area.  

May 2

8:44 a.m. A man requested to speak to officers in reference to someone sleeping on his property during the nighttime hours. Officers responded to the 500 block of E. Broad St. The area was checked by officers throughout the night.  A directive patrol was issued for this location. 

5:05 p.m. Officers were asked to check on the welfare of a woman living in the 600 block of S. Pacific St. The woman was located and was advised to make contact with her grandson. 

6:18 p.m. A car was reported to dispatch as being stalled in the middle of the roadway. Vehicle was located in the 300 block of E. Broad St. Officers assisted the motorist and the vehicle was towed per the owner’s request. 

7:37 p.m. Dispatch received a report of a small child riding a battery powered car in the 100 block of Krause Street without supervision. The caller called back and stated the child and parent left the location before officer’s arrival. 

8:24 p.m. Officers were dispatched to 1200 block of Bromberg St. for a disturbance. Officers found that one party had already left the scene and the other party was found at the location. After speaking to both sides no one wished to file criminal charges. 

11:41 p.m. A man in the 100 block of Stone St. reported to police that his debit card had been stolen.  The debit card was located a short time later. 

May 3

7:16 p.m. A woman called from out of town and reported that her neighbor had contacted her about a known suspect attempting to break into her home while she was gone. Officers responded to the 1500 block of Brenda Lane. Officer found that the suspect was not at that location. After further investigation it was discovered that the suspect was at a different location. After speaking to caller, it was determined that no offense had been committed and that incident would be a civil matter. 

8:51 p.m. A disturbance was reported in the 200 block of E. Broad St. A woman reported that her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend was causing problems and following her around. All parties were spoken to and separated. No offense occurred. 

9:13 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance call in the 500 block of Meadowbrook Dr. A family member had been assaulted by another family member. No one wished to file charges. Investigation continues. 

9:43 p.m. A man wished to have another man trespassed from a property located in the 600 block of W. Broad St. The suspect was not at the location when the caller contacted the police department. The reporting party was advised to contact the police department if the man returned. 

May 4

10:13 a.m. Officers assisted a driver of a vehicle who ran out of gas at S. Pacific and Bromberg St. Officers supplied the driver with gasoline and he was able to get back on the road again.

2:27 p.m. A medical facility called the police department to see if officers could complete a welfare check for a patient who had missed his appointments. Officers made contact with the person on Stone St. The patient was notified to contact the facility. 

7:20 p.m.  A woman reported a theft when her money was found to be missing from her residence. Officers responded to the 1200 block of Bromberg St. to speak with the complainant. A case report was completed and this offense is under investigation. 

9:24 p.m. Officers were requested in the 1100 block of N. Newsom St. when a man stated that his son was accidentally locked inside of a fenced area. The manager of the property was contacted and informed of the situation. 

May 5

3:27 a.m. Dispatch received a call about a suspicious person shining a light into a window of a residence.  Officers responded to the 700 block of Stone St. to check the area. Officer checked the area but did not observe any lights. A check of the area was completed throughout the morning. 

12:57 p.m. Officers located and removed debris from the roadway it the 1000 block of E. Broad St. 

5:07 p.m. A business in the 1200 block of N. Pacific St. reported a man at their location that was making terroristic threats toward his neighbor. Officers spoke to all parties involved. The incident was documented and the subject was released to EMS. 

9:43 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of E. McDonald St. in reference to the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The vehicle’s owner reported a known person took his car without his permission. The vehicle was located a short time later and the vehicle had been damaged. The owner of the vehicle did not file charges.  

9:58 p.m. The driver of a pickup was reported speeding in the 100 block of Elliott St. The caller stated the man driving was cursing and being disorderly. Officers made contact with the caller, however the man had left the area prior to officer’s arrival. Contact was later made with a family member of the driver. 

May 6

1:03 p.m.  A man reported that his vehicle was damaged after returning from shopping at the local Walmart. After further investigation it was undetermined if the damage to the man’s vehicle had actually occurred in the parking lot.  

3:37 p.m. Officers were dispatched to an assault in the 100 block of Stone St. Perry James Lipscomb Jr., 36, of Mineola was arrested for assault-family violence.  A juvenile was detained in the incident and will also receive charges for his involvement in the assault. 

4:48 p.m. A truck was reported being operated in a reckless manner. The caller witnessed the vehicle hit a curb and a fence in the 400 block of W. Kilpatrick St. The truck was located by officers and found to be parked and unoccupied. Officers checked the area in an attempt to locate property damage.  No damage was observed or reported. Investigation continues. 

7:07 p.m. A man in the 900 block of University St. reported that two of his cats went missing.  A description of the cats was taken along with some additional information. All information was forwarded to animal control officers and to the Mineola Animal Shelter.
