Mineola Police Report, Feb. 28 - Mar. 6

March 6

7:44 a.m. A death investigation was conducted at Autumn Winds Assisted Living when a 91-year-old man was found unresponsive in his residence. CPR was performed by the Fire Department and EMS. Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Janae Holland pronounced the resident deceased. No autopsy was ordered.

12:33 p.m. An officer issued a verbal warning to a person soliciting without a permit on Commerce Street.

6:46 p.m. A resident on North Pacific Street reported that someone came to his door and knocked. When the resident went to the door, he found that his vehicle had been egged.

7:32 p.m. A motorist was reported driving without lights. An officer stopped the vehicle on South Pacific Street.

8:19 p.m. A wallet was found and turned in on North Pacific Street.

8:44 p.m. A verbal disturbance was reported on Francis Street between a man and woman. The man reported his girlfriend would not let him in the residence. The two were separated for the night.

March 5

10:31 a.m. Officers stopped to check on a man who was working on a vehicle on West Broad and found him to be wanted out of Van Zandt County for possession of a controlled substance. Dustin Alan Sewell, 35, of Mineola was arrested for the warrant.

11:15 a.m. A restaurant on East Broad Street reported someone throwing household trash in the Dumpster behind the restaurant.

1:17 p.m. An assault by contact was reported that occurred in April of 2018 at the Todd and Sargent Construction site on Loop 564.

2:57 p.m. Officers assisted on a medical call on Phillips Street. The resident was transported to the hospital by EMS.

5:19 p.m. A reckless driver was reported traveling at a high rate of speed and turned into Brookshire’s parking lot.

7:35 p.m. An officer assisted the Fire Department on a gas smell reported on Bromberg Street.

7:42 p.m. A reckless driver was reported traveling at a high rate of speed on Loop 564. Wood County S.O. was contacted.

10:49 p.m. An officer assisted on a medical call on West Blair Street. The resident was transported to the hospital by EMS.

March 4

12:22 a.m. Loud music was reported on Bowdoin Street. An officer located a vehicle parked at a residence on Bowdoin with occupants playing the loud music. The music was turned down.

1:47 a.m. A resident on Stone Street reported a man walking around her residence. An officer responded and found a male in the area because his vehicle had broken down and he needed assistance. He had been at the residence because he knew the resident. The man was transported to the Valero on South Pacific to stay until someone could pick him up.

1:03 p.m. A resident on Minwood Street reported fraudulent charges on their Valero fuel card.

7:39 p.m. An officer assisted EMS on a medical call involving a 2-year-old child on Wren Street. Upon officer’s arrival, the child was OK. The child was not transported to the hospital.

10:42 p.m. An officer assisted a pedestrian by giving them a ride to CR 2302.

March 3

12:32 a.m. Loud music was reported on West Blair Street. An officer responded and found the source. The resident turned the music down.

2:11 a.m. An employee for a transportation company called and reported two individuals she had picked up at Neon Moon club in Yantis were extremely intoxicated. The complainant reported the female rider became non-compliant with the rules against not smoking in the vehicle and she took off her seatbelt. The female started yelling and cursing the driver. The driver stopped at Walmart to let the two out and they continued to curse her, using vulgar language. The female reportedly kicked the door when she got out, which caused a small amount of damage to the door. Cory Dean Hughes, 41, of Quitman was arrested for public intoxication at Whataburger when the two walked into the restaurant. The officers were there on meal break when the call came in. Dena Machelle Belyeu, 43, of Mineola was arrested for public intoxication, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia. The two were uncooperative with officers when placed under arrest.

2:50 p.m. An officer responded to a power line down on CR. 2200, which had several homes without power in the area. A large tree had fallen and caused damage to the pole and line.

March 2

4:00 a.m. Anthony Lee Blavier, 38, was arrested for a Cass County warrant for assault and possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop for a traffic violation on Loop 564. Blavier was found in possession.

8:42 p.m. A convenience store on East Broad Street reported a suspicious vehicle just sitting in the parking lot occupied by three males for at least an hour. An officer made contact with the subjects and determined they were waiting for someone to bring them gas money.

March 1

8:46 p.m. A suspicious person was reported at the Civic Center. Some women reported a man driving a red Durango drove by them slowly a couple of times while they were walking. An officer responded to the area and the man was leaving the Civic Center when the officer arrived.

1:05 p.m. Officers assisted Wood County Constable Pct. 2 and his K-9 Juma when a family wished to have an area searched on South Johnson Street.

3:07 p.m. A man reported that he had got mad and threw a cup at his girlfriend’s car. He was directed to the Andrew’s Center for anger management and someone to talk to about his problems.

3:22 p.m. A welfare check was requested by out of town family members for a man that lived on West McDonald Street. An officer responded to the residence and determined the man did not live there anymore but a phone number was provided for him. The man contacted his family.

11:41 p.m. A truck was reportedly doing donuts in the parking lot of the Mineola Youth Foundation. An officer responded to the area and found the tire marks in the parking lot, but the vehicle was not there. An officer secured the gate.

February 28

12:37 a.m. An officer assisted EMS on a medical call on Wigley Street.

7:39 a.m. An employee at Walmart reported he had his personal phone stolen from the counter when he walked away for a minute.

10:08 a.m. A business on North Pacific reported a parking issue in the parking lot. An officer responded and had the occupant of the vehicle move it.

11:12 a.m. A hit and run was reported in the Taco Bell parking lot. An unoccupied vehicle was hit and the suspect drove away without stopping to give information.

5:03 p.m. A business owner on East Broad Street reported harassment from a customer.

9:45 p.m. A business on North Pacific Street reported finding a small baggie of marijuana in the bathroom. An officer responded and took possession of the marijuana for disposal.

10:41 p.m. An officer assisted a Wood County deputy on a vehicle search on South Pacific Street.
