10:44 a.m. A welfare concern was reported by a woman wishing for the department to check on a resident on Kevin Street. An officer made contact with the man and he was fine.

Mineola Police Report, March 14-20

10:44 a.m. A welfare concern was reported by a woman wishing for the department to check on a resident on Kevin Street. An officer made contact with the man and he was fine.

3:57 p.m. Officers responded to assist with a major vehicle accident on Loop 564 at FM 1254.

5:12 p.m. EZ Mart reported a woman ran into the restroom and locked the door. The employee reported the woman was hiding from someone. Officers spoke with the woman, but she would not cooperate.

March 19

5:52 p.m. A welfare concern was reported on Inwood Street when a caller reported a man walking in the street acting very strange. An officer responded but did not find anyone.

March 18

10:50 a.m. An officer responded to a crossing arm broken off and lying in the roadway on Stone Street.

12:11 p.m. Criminal mischief was reported when an unknown person shot the back glass out of a vehicle with a BB gun. The offense is believed to have happened on Graham Street.

4:23 p.m. A disturbance was reported on Read Street. The complainant stated that she and her ex- boyfriend got into a verbal argument and he threw a brick at her vehicle, causing damage to the windshield. She signed a waiver of prosecution.

9:41 p.m. Officers assisted another agency when an off-duty officer from Grand Saline reported that he was with a possibly intoxicated driver on West Broad Street. A DPS trooper responded and took a person into custody.

March 17

1:08 a.m. Walmart reported that several witnesses saw a woman stuffing her purse with merchandise. An officer confronted the woman and she gave back the property. No charges were filed.

6:16 a.m. A business on East Broad Street reported a vehicle at the back door of the business when they arrived to open up. An officer checked on the vehicle and the occupants and determined they were sleeping until the store opened so they could get fuel.

8:06 a.m. Zachary Bryan Barnhart, 19, of Wildorado was arrested when he was stopped on East Broad Street for a having a fictitious, altered temporary license plate. He was charged with no driver’s license, no proof of liability insurance and a fictitious license plate.

5:35 p.m. A disturbance was reported at a residence on Dubose Street. A man who had previously been trespassed was there causing a scene. When the officer arrived, the man was already gone. Charges are pending.

9:47 p.m. An anonymous caller reported that a vehicle leaving the Hoard area and headed to Mineola was occupied by two intoxicated females and three children. Officers attempted to get more information and were finally able to find the residence the females were supposedly headed to. The officers went to the residence and found the possible vehicle already there. The officers observed that the children were there and OK.

10:28 p.m. A disturbance was reported at a residence on Baker Street. A resident said her son was causing trouble. The parties were separated for the night after it was determined to be verbal only.

March 16

1:05 a.m. A woman on McDaniels Street reported having someone at her home that had been calling her names and threatening her. An officer responded and spoke with all parties and determined it to be a civil matter and that no offense had occurred.

6:54 p.m. A man reported his son was supposed to get off the train and to be picked up, but the train depot was locked up and no one was around. An officer picked up his son at Dairy Queen and transported him to the Police Department to be picked up by family.

9:29 p.m. A resident on West Broad Street reported a man showed up accusing him of stealing his phone. The accusation occurred a few minutes after he had walked to the man’s business to borrow his phone and return it. The resident reported the man showed up intoxicated and poked him in the chest. The phone was later found in the bed of the man’s vehicle. The complainant later called and wanted to sign a non-prosecution waiver.

10:14 p.m. A disturbance was reported at a residence on West Broad Street when a woman attempted to get her mother’s property from a residence and a man got in her face. Officers responded and found the disturbance to be verbal only.

11:10 p.m. A resident on West Broad Street reported that his girlfriend’s husband is threatening him and he wanted to file charges. A report was filed but the resident later signed a waiver of non- prosecution.

11:14 p.m. A reckless driver was reported on East Broad Street. The driver was unable to maintain a single lane and would speed up and slow down. An officer patrolled the area, located the vehicle and stopped it. The officer did not observe any signs of intoxication when a field sobriety test was conducted.

March 15

9:38 a.m. An inmate at Wood County Jail reported someone had been inside his residence, located at Goodson Circle, while he was in jail and had taken some items without his consent. A theft report was filed.

1:40 p.m. Officers assisted Mineola Fire Department with a reported house fire on South Newsom Street.

4 p.m. A reckless driver was reported on South Pacific Street, and they reportedly tried to run a vehicle off the roadway. The reckless driver turned in to a convenience store. When the officer arrived the vehicle was not there.

4:48 p.m. A resident on Meadowbrook reported a trailer license plate had been stolen. The plate was entered into a law enforcement database as stolen.

6:15 p.m. A bicycle was found by a resident on Stone Street. The bicycle is at the Police Department.

9:51 p.m. A woman reported she was assaulted at a residence on East Broad Street. William Madison Leonard, 40, of Mineola was arrested for assault with bodily injury/family violence.

March 14

4:26 a.m. A disturbance was reported on Landers Street. The grandmother stated her 17-year-old granddaughter was acting up. An officer responded and determined it to be verbal only. An officer transported the granddaughter to a friend’s house.

5:28 a.m. An officer reported a suspicious person at the Civic Center. The officer advised the person the Civic Center was closed.

10:40 a.m. A disturbance was reported at a residence on North Pacific Street. A boyfriend took his girlfriend’s phone from her. The boyfriend later said she slapped him, but he didn’t want to pursue charges. A non prosecution waiver was signed by the boyfriend. The two separated before the officer left. A family violence report was completed.

3:46 p.m. A disturbance was reported at Walmart parking lot when a woman reported that a man in another vehicle got angry and started cursing her. Officers responded and spoke with both parties and a witness. The man was written a citation for disorderly conduct.
