2:17 p.m. A citizen reported a phone scam when someone called him telling the citizen that he had warrants. The citizen gave his information over the phone.

2:17 p.m. A citizen reported a phone scam when someone called him telling the citizen that he had warrants. The citizen gave his information over the phone.

March 26

1:12 a.m. An officer assisted EMS on a medical call on North Newsom Street.

8:26 a.m. A suspicious person was reported parked at a residence on Second Street. Officers checked on the man and found that he was lying in the back seat of the pickup. After verifying if he had permission to have the vehicle, he was told to leave the property because he did not know who lived at the residence he was at.

11:56 a.m. Joe Earl Brown, 56, of Mineola was arrested for possession of a controlled substance under 1 gram after he was stopped for defective tail lights on Loop 564.

1:48 p.m. A runaway from Smith County was reported to be sitting at McDonald’s restaurant. Officers responded and found the 15-year-old female. The runaway was transported to the police department. She was later released to a family member.

3:14 p.m. A resident on North Line Street reported harassing telephone calls.

5:38 p.m. Two reckless drivers were reportedly trying to run each other off the road. The caller reported they were traveling north on Pacific Street. An officer responded to the area and attempted to locate the vehicles, but was unable.

7:26 p.m. Loud music was reported on Graham Street. An officer responded to the residence on Graham Street and the music was turned down.

March 25

10:23 a.m. A business on East Broad Street reported two females using counterfeit $100 bills to order food. After they had received their change but before getting their food, the two left. This is under investigation.

10:51 a.m. A theft was reported at Walmart when a man was observed walking out with vacuum cleaners. Warrants are pending.

2:24 p.m. A man reported his wallet was stolen from his vehicle while he was parked at a business on North Pacific Street.

6:28 p.m. Wood County S.O. reported a reckless driver of a bobtail truck on U.S. 69 North, southbound toward the city. An officer waited at the city limits but did not observe the vehicle.

10:56 p.m. An officer checked on a suspicious vehicle sitting at McDaniel Street and Revelle Street.

March 24

12:24 a.m. A woman reported they were headed through town from the concert in Lindale and her husband got out of the vehicle and started walking. She reported he was intoxicated. While officers were searching for him he called his wife and had her pick him up at Walmart.

3:21 a.m. A resident on N. Line Street reported harassment by an ex-boyfriend. This is under investigation.

10:54 a.m. A resident on Wigley Street reported his front door getting shot with a paintball gun. A juvenile was given a citation for criminal mischief.

4:10 p.m. A cattle gate was reported stolen on Bromberg Street.

6:51 p.m. A woman reported that she loaned a vehicle to a person she knew back in December with the promise for him to purchase it. The suspect never returned the vehicle and has not paid for it. The vehicle has been entered as stolen.

7:50 p.m. A resident on Minwood Street requested an officer speak with her teenager about some threats that were made. An officer transported the teenager to UT Health for an evaluation.

8:59 p.m. A disturbance was reported on North Line Street. An ex-boyfriend threw water on his girlfriend and walked off. Officers located Bill Charles Neal, 47, of Alba at Patten and University Street. Neal was arrested for possession of marijuana under two ounces.

11:30 p.m. An officer assisted EMS on a medical call for an infant on Robin Street.

March 23

1 p.m. A reckless motorcycle driver was reported on Peachtree. An officer responded to the area and found the motorcycle already parked at a residence.

2:51 p.m. A disturbance was reported on Harris Street between a landlord and a tenant’s husband. William Morgan Waggoner, 78, of Mineola was arrested for assault with bodily injury.

4:16 p.m. An officer responded to the Walmart parking lot in reference to a report of three vehicles parked in the fire lane. The vehicles were already gone upon the officer’s arrival.

7:43 p.m. Tammie Lynette Potts, 50, of Winnsboro was arrested at Walmart for theft over $750/ under $2,500. Potts allegedly attempted to take over $1,300 in merchandise. A Walmart security employee caught her after she left the store. The property was recovered. Once Potts was at the jail, the officer found alleged methamphetamine in her purse. She was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

11:19 p.m. A reckless driver was reported coming into Mineola on South Pacific Street. An officer got the vehicle stopped and found no signs of intoxication.

March 22

8:04 a.m. A welfare concern was reported for an occupant in a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, near Murphy’s USA. The man was checked on by an officer and he was found to be fine. He was just sleepy and pulled over to sleep.

12:12 p.m. A wallet was found at Cage and North Pacific Street. The owner was located.

8:45 p.m. Mark Edward Johnson, 33, of Mineola was arrested for a criminal trespass warrant on West Blair Street. Johnson allegedly had received a trespass warning from a resident on a nearby street and he went back to the residence.

10:22 p.m. A woman requested assistance back to her residence from Walmart and could not afford to pay anyone. An officer transported the woman to her residence.

10:50 p.m. A death investigation was conducted at a residence on Meadowbrook for a 54-year-old man who was found deceased by a friend. An autopsy was ordered by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Tony Gilbreath.

March 21

12:46 p.m. Officers assisted on a medical call on Goodson Circle.

3:11 p.m. A woman reported credit card abuse. This is under investigation.

3:59 p.m. Bessie Vaughn Webb, 45, of Mineola was arrested on a credit card abuse warrant out of Winnsboro P.D. The officer knew Webb had an active warrant and stopped her on Kevin Street. Webb was also arrested for a local failure to appear warrant and possession of a controlled substance under 1 gram when an officer found an alleged meth pipe containing alleged meth in her vehicle.

8 p.m. An officer assisted a stranded motorist on East Broad at Mimosa Street.

8:17 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle in the ditch at East Broad and Loop 564, and the driver appeared to be intoxicated with children in the vehicle. The caller reported that another vehicle pulled the vehicle out of the ditch and the vehicle was headed toward the city. An officer responded to the area, but did not locate the vehicle.
