4:12 a.m. A report was received in reference to a pole on top of the Mineola Museum sparking and smoking. An officer checked out the complaint and found the light on top of the pole was not on fire, or sparking, but it appears to look like that when it is raining, or has been raining.

8:20 a.m. Jesse Abraham Galvan, 35, of Lindale was arrested for no driver’s license, no liability insurance and expired registration after he was stopped for a traffic violation on South Pacific Street.

8:07 p.m. A dog bite report was received from UT Health in Quitman. A woman was bit while trying to break up a fight with the dog she was with and a stray dog. The woman was transported to a Tyler hospital with bites to her face and hands. The suspected dog has not been found.

May 3

7:43 a.m. A damaged laptop was turned in at the police department that was found in the roadway of North Pacific Street. The owner of the laptop is not known at this time.

9:39 a.m. Longhorn Ford reported three navigation systems stolen from vehicles.

3:13 p.m. An officer assisted EMS on a medical call at McDonald’s parking lot on North Pacific Street.

7:53 p.m. A welfare concern was reported for a juvenile that was posting on social media. The address was found to be in the county, so Wood County S.O. was notified.

10:10 p.m. Officers were notified that an intoxicated man was going to be getting off the train at the depot. Officers were waiting for the man to get off and determined he had a ride waiting for him. A family member took responsibility for the man.

10:23 p.m. A resident on Francis Street reported someone had left a DVD in their mailbox. The resident was suspicious of the DVD and turned it over to the police department.

May 4

2:03 a.m. Suspicious activity was reported on Dubose Street when a resident was awakened by a known man knocking on the side of his residence with a stick. The man was found on another street close by and told by the officer to not be going to anyone’s residence in early morning hours.

1:38 p.m. An officer assisted Wood County S.O. by standing by at a residence that reported a disturbance with two residents in a verbal argument just outside the city limits until a deputy arrived.

4:57 p.m. Jennifer Rose Woods, 36, Mineola, was arrested for a failure to appear Class C warrant for dogs at large. An officer responded to an animal control complaint involving her dogs at large again on South Newsom Street.

7:52 p.m. A possible disturbance was reported at a residence on Peachtree Street. A caller heard yelling and things being thrown around. Officers responded to the residence and found one resident in the carport. While the officer was attempting to investigate the possible disturbance, the resident picked up a loaded weapon and attempted to walk into the residence without cooperating with the officer. Officers were able to detain the resident and get the gun from him before he got into the residence. The resident resisted and struggled with the officers. Hiram Keith Harris, 44, of Mineola was arrested for allegedly evading detention.

May 5

5:04 p.m. A citizen reported a vehicle missing from their residence. The vehicle was determined to be repossessed.

May 6

7:16 p.m. A caller reported she had been at the convenience store on North Pacific and four males were giving the clerk a hard time. A welfare check was conducted and the clerk reported she was fine. The four had left the store.

May 7

1:11 a.m. Travis Dewayne McGuire, 25, Mineola, was arrested for a local failure to appear class C warrant after he was stopped for speeding on North Pacific Street.

7:04 a.m. A power line was reportedly in the roadway on West Broad Street. The line was found to be a Suddenlink cable. Officers removed the cable from the roadway.

May 8

5:52 a.m. A resident on East Blair Street reported a man rang her door bell and when she opened the door, the man looked at her and said he had the wrong address, but he was still standing in her yard. Officers responded to the area and found the man on East Blair Street. A family member was contacted to pick him up. The officer offered him a ride, but he refused, so they followed him until the family member picked him up on West Blair Street.

10:53 a.m. Aaron’s Rental reported a customer who failed to pay the rental and will not bring back the property.

1:03 p.m. Officers assisted in barricading flooded streets during the rain storm.

3:38 p.m. A bank on West Broad Street reported telephone harassment when a woman continued to call and harass the employees about things they had already attempted to help her with.

4:04 p.m. Officers assisted a motorist who was stranded at CR 2200 and Sycamore. A tow truck was contacted to get the vehicle out of the ditch.

6:49 p.m. A reckless driver was reported driving dangerously and one of the passengers was hanging out of the window. An officer responded and observed the vehicle parked at a residence at Francis and West Broad Street.

9:36 p.m. A resident on Pamela spoke with an officer in reference to people coming to their residence that were not invited. The officer offered assistance by letting the resident know the people can be trespassed if they show up.
