DECEMBER 5, 2018

At 10:10 a.m. a woman reported possible suspicious activity at her residence when she is not at home. An officer spoke with the complainant in reference of his findings.

An intoxicated driver had reportedly driven away from a residence on North Newsom Street at 4:08 p.m. Officers responded and patrolled the area the driver was reportedly headed but did not locate vehicle.

At 6:02 p.m. a caller reported a disturbance in a vehicle parked in the Walmart parking lot. The caller reported a man was hitting a woman. Officers responded to the parking lot and patrolled the area but did not locate the vehicle.

Union Pacific Railroad employees reported three people walking on the tracks at Commerce and South Pacific Street at 8:39 p.m. Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate anyone on the track.

DECEMBER 4, 2018

At 8:27 a.m. a report was filed by Walmart in regards to a Nov. 24 theft. A witness saw a subject take items from Walmart. Asset protection was not available at the time to review security footage. An investigator has been working with Gilmer police because the same subjects stole from Gilmer’s Walmart, and they are in custody. Some of the items stolen from Mineola Walmart were recovered by Gilmer police. Warrants will be issued for the suspects involved.

At 10:03 a.m. a welfare concern was reported when a man said he had not heard from his mother-in-law, who had a 2-year-old with her. The man called back and said he did make contact and everything was OK.

A woman brought her juvenile son that has been disrespectful to her to the department so an officer could talk with him at 10:55 a.m. After speaking with him, the officers recommended she talk to his probation officer and let him know.

At 11:06 a.m. Aaron’s reported three cases where the customers were late on payments but did not return the property to the store. All three customers were contacted by an officer and they agreed to take care of the issue.

An investigator met at the high school to speak with a complainant in reference to possible child abuse.

A citizen reported several teenage boys gathering behind McDonald’s and it appeared they were going to fight at 2:06 p.m. A carload of the boys left before officers arrived. No physical violence took place.

At 3:39 p.m. James Calixto, 17, of Mineola, was arrested on Front Street for a local failure-to-appear warrant.

A woman reported getting some unwanted texts from her ex-husband at 4:34 p.m. A direct patrol was issued for her residence.

At 9:09 p.m. a reckless driver was reported traveling in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed. An officer stopped the vehicle at Greenville and Pacific Street. The officer found no signs of intoxication.

Loud music was reported at a residence on Graves Street at 10:43 p.m. An officer responded to the call and had the residents turn the music down.

DECEMBER 3, 2018

At 3:36 a.m. Wood County S.O. requested help locating a male, stating he was on foot just outside the city limits of Mineola and was being chased by a pack of dogs. Wood County located the person.

At 10:35 a.m. a disturbance was reported when a caller reported a man and woman walking down North Pacific. It appeared they were fighting. An officer responded to area and found the two. The male said it was just a verbal argument and the female would not cooperate with the officer.

Union Pacific Railroad employees reported a man standing on the tracks near West Broad Street and Cheek Street at 1:54 p.m. An officer responded to the area but did not find anyone.

At 6:30 p.m. Dollar General reported receiving a counterfeit $20 bill. The bill was taken for evidence and it is under investigation.

A welfare concern was reported when a woman found a Facebook post of a juvenile with injuries at 9:16 p.m. An officer made contact with the juvenile and found the injuries were old and everything fine.

DECEMBER 2, 2018

At 12:09 a.m. an officer made a traffic stop on NE Loop 564 and found some juveniles in the vehicle. The officer released the juveniles to their guardians.

A man on West McDonald Street called 911 at 4:58 a.m.to report his child’s mother was at his residence intoxicated and trying to take the child with her. An officer responded and the female was taken to her residence by the officer and released to a responsible adult.

Central Baptist Church on Line Street reported a man sleeping on the steps of the church at 7:50 a.m. An officer responded and found the man was in town visiting a girlfriend and they had an argument so he was waiting for someone to pick him up.

At 9:36 a.m. a 911 open line was received in the 300 block of Line Street that appeared to be a child playing with the phone. Officers went to the location but the resident said it did not come from their residence. The resident called back and reported that an infant had the phone and must have called.

A man at Autumn Wind Apartments reported he was assaulted by a family member with an umbrella at 9:43 a.m. when they were leaving to go to church. This is under investigation.

At 5:52 p.m. a man turned in a key card that was found during the parade. The owner was notified and key card was returned.

At 6:48 p.m. a disturbance was reported on West Buchanan Street. The resident reportedly hit one of the subjects when they refused to leave his residence. An officer responded but the resident was not there. A female did not wish to file charges and signed a waiver of prosecution.

At 7:48 p.m. a reckless vehicle was reported, An SUV pulling a trailer did not have lights on the trailer or the back of the vehicle. An officer stopped the vehicle on Loop 564.

DECEMBER 1, 2018

At 1:20 a.m. a woman on Johnson Street reported she returned home and had broken her key off in the door of her residence. An officer responded and attempted to help but was unable to get the key out. The woman called for assistance from another party to get the key out. The officer then assisted the resident by unlocking her vehicle to get another house key to gain access to the house.

At 1:37 a.m. dispatch receive a 911 hang up call. When the number was called back a woman said she had cut her hand but she did not need any assistance and hung up. Dispatch called the number back and spoke with a man who said his girlfriend cut her hand and they were walking to the police department to get an ambulance for her. The two made it to the police department and EMS was waiting for her.

At 3:41 p.m. a vehicle displaying loud music was reported on Francis Street. An officer responded but the vehicle left before the officer’s arrival.

At 7:01 p.m. a woman reported her 6-year-old son went into the restroom at Walmart and a man followed him. She felt it to be suspicious by the way the man was acting. Video surveillance was reviewed and the boy was asked about the incident by the officer. They boy did not reveal any suspicious activity by the man.

At 7:07 p.m. a resident on Heritage Drive reported someone knocking on her door, off and on, for five to 10 minutes. Whoever was knocking would not say anything, so the resident requested an officer in the area to see if someone was walking around. The officer patrolled the area but did not see anyone.

NOVEMBER 30, 2018

At 6:24 A.M. EMS requested assistance from an officer on a medical call on McDaniel Street.

At 6:35 a.m. a resident on Ivey Street reported she had some family staying with her and the father of the children showed up to take them. An officer responded but the father was gone on his arrival.

Wood County reported receiving a 911 call at 9:46 a.m. about a reckless driving headed southbound into the city on Hwy. 37 in a white car. An officer responded but did not locate the reckless car.

At 6:11 p.m. a burn ban violation was reported on Carolyn Street. The responding officer had the man put out the fire.

NOVEMBER 29, 2018

At 3:19 a.m. a woman reported smelling an odor that was alarming in her home on Cage Street. An officer responded to the home but could not smell anything. She was advised to call and the fire department would check if she smelled the odor again.

At 10 a.m. a man reported he was visiting a residence on Kevin Street and his vehicle was burglarized. He reported someone also attempted to steal the vehicle by damaging the steering column.

At 1:46 p.m. officers responded to the high school to assist EMS with a medical call. The student was transported to a hospital.

Officers responded to Kevin Street at 2:20 p.m. in reference to a third party reporting a residence was vandalized by an ex-boyfriend.

At 3:02 p.m. a citizen turned in some drug paraphernalia that was located at the Civic

Center.

At 8:48 p.m. a disturbance was reported at a motel on East Broad Street. The woman threw a bottle of lotion and hit a man. No charges were filed because the man signed a non-prosecution, but a report was filed for family violence purposes.

At 11:24 p.m. a man on Lilly Street reported he pulled into his driveway and saw a white male running from around his daughter’s car. He chased the male but lost him. He was reportedly about 18 years old.
