Jonathan Wade Burge, 45, of Mineola died late Monday night in one-vehicle crash about four miles east of Mineola, according to the Department of Public Safety.
A preliminary crash investigation revealed that Burge was driving a 2000 Chevrolet C2500 east on U.S. 80 at a high rate of speed. For some reason, the vehicle veered into the center median and struck a culvert before overturning several times, according to the DPS.
Burge, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Cindy Weems.
