Mineola service clubs host car show

Don’t miss the great car show Saturday, July 27 at the Mineola football field parking lot. The show is sponsored by the Mineola Kiwanis, Rotary and Pilot Clubs to benefit their many projects.

Registration is from 8-10:30 a.m. and is $30 per entry. Preregistration forms may be found on the Facebook pages of all the service clubs. Trophies will be awarded in 22 classes with the crowd voting for the winners.

In addition, the three organizations will have a variety of drawing with tickets at $5 for one or $20 for five. Items include gift cards, jewelry, a gas tank for a grill donated by Mineola Gas & Supply, a taste of Texas basket, a car kit from ABC Auto, an item from Ace Hardware and theater passes from the Select Theater. There will also be a chance to win cash in a 50/50 drawing. Several local artisans will have booths offering a variety of goodies.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
