Mineola takes on Madison for area title

Mineola defeats Dallas Madison 42-14 for the area football title and will take on Mt. Vernon Friday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. in Sulphur Springs.

Mineola and Dallas Madison battle for the area playoff title tonight in Princeton.

A Mineola win could set up a rematch next week with Mt. Vernon, the only team to beat Mineola this year. Mt. Vernon plays West tonight.

With 4:32 to play West cuts the Mt. Vernon lead to 24-14.

West gets within 24-21 but only 36 seconds left in the game.

West recovers the onside kick at the Mt. Vernon 49.

Mineola still leads 35-7 heading into the 4th quarter.

Mt. Vernon holds on to win 24-21 and will take on Mineola in the third round of the playoffs next week, as long as the Yellowjackets hold onto the 28-point lead.

Madison cuts the lead to 35-14 with 9:55 to play.
