Former Mineola Yellowjacket Jeremiah Crawford sparked Tyler Junior College in their 59-41 victory over Navarro, the nation’s 14th ranked team. Crawford came on in relief of August DiBiase at the start of the fourth quarter with Navarro leading 41-35.

All Crawford did was go 5 for 7 passing for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns leading to 24 final quarter points for the Apaches. It was Tyler’s second victory in a row over a ranked team after beating Trinity Valley last week.

Crawford had a nine yard scoring pass to Davion Curtis five seconds into the fourth quarter and followed with a 29 yard scoring toss to Jacob Cainer putting the Apaches ahead 49-41 with 13:04 left in the game. The Apaches got 10 more points on a field goal and an interception return for a score to make the 59-41 final.

The Apaches are back in action Saturday against Texas A&T with a 7 p.m. kick-off at Rose Stadium.
