MISD receives no public input on superintendent
Mineola ISD Interim Superintendent Randy Hancock held an open meeting Tuesday evening, Oct. 22 for community members to voice their desires and the characteristics they would like to have in a new superintendent.
Unfortunately, no one came to the meeting.
“I want to help the board find a good fit for this district,” said Hancock. To do that, citizens, students, teachers and staff need to help him compile a list of qualifications.
The deadline for superintendent applications is Nov. 13. Thirty to 40 applications are expected, which the board will review Nov. 18-19. Vote to hire will be Jan. 3, and the new superintendent start date will be on or before Feb. 3.
Questions and comments should be directed to Hancock at HancockR@mineolaisd.net or 903-569-2448.
