Services for Morris Wendell Baker, Jr., 69, of Alba were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Alba, with Pastor Rick Rumfelt officiating.

Interment was in Golden Cemetery.

Mr. Baker passed away Oct. 9, 2021 in Tyler. He was born Sept. 16, 1952 in Dallas to Morris Wendell and Billie Ruth Baker, Sr. Wendell married Lana Kay Davis on June 8, 1973. He lived in the Alba-Golden area for the last 36 years and worked for the Golden Water Supply Corp. as the general manager since 1989. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 29 years, Lana Kay Davis Baker; brother, William Baker; sister, Cindy Rumfelt; and niece, Angel Bryant.

Survivors include his son, Morris Wendell Baker III of Golden; daughter, Sancy Macelita Beth Baker-Green and husband James of Golden; brother, Matthew Baker and wife Cindy of Wills Point; two sisters, Margie Corbitt and husband John, and Mary Baker and James Hollman all of Golden; five grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
