The Mineola Country Club celebrates the opening of its new clubhouse this weekend.

The new facility, which opened two weeks ago, is planning two days of festivities, starting with a ribbon cutting Friday at 10 a.m.

The clubhouse was constructed to replace the club’s iconic building on the hill, which stood since 1932 and was destroyed in a fire Monday, Aug. 21, 2023.

The oldest and youngest members will be acknowledged along with the longest-tenured member and club champions.

After lunch in the new Logan’s Biscuit Co. (operated by Logan Belcher who has Logan’s Place in Mineola), tours will be given from 1-3 p.m. There will also be a closest to the pin contest on the new indoor golf simulator.

Kids can play on the bounce house starting at 3.

The final Friday night scramble for the season kicks off at 5:30 p.m.

Singer Amedea D’Angelo will perform in the clubhouse from 7:45-10:45 p.m.

Saturday starts with breakfast at 8 a.m., when the bounce house will also open.

Tickets for a 50/50 drawing will be available all day.

Information will be presented on memberships as well as the memorial brick paver program from 9-10 a.m.

Bloody Marys and Mimosas will be served from 9-11, and lunch will be available at Logan’s at noon.

A hit it and win it putting contest starts at 2 p.m. followed by a Tic Tac Toe chipping contest at 4.

Dinner is from 6-9 p.m., and Blue Mudbone will be performing.

The final Sunday Scramble for the season will tee off at 1 p.m.
