Olivia Grace Vis, 1938-2020

Olivia Grace Vis, 82, of Mineola passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Briarcliff Nursing Home in Tyler. She was born on April 27, 1938 in Mullin to the late M.E. and Loraine Williams. She was a retired personal assistant and friend to Abigail Van Buren (Dear Abby) and her daughter, Jeanne Phillips, for over 20 years. She was a member of the Broad Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of the League of the Arts, and along with her husband, Richard, both were avid and talented quilt makers. They were also members of the Mineola Railers Square Dance Club.

She is survived by her loving husband and soulmate for 30 years, Richard Vis of Mineola; son, Terry Stewart and wife Barbara of Mineola; son, Mark Stewart of California; brother, Wayne Williams and wife Lillian of Mineola; sister, Karen Snyder and husband John of Sherwood, Ark.; grandchildren, Jennifer Stewart, Christina Stewart, Brian and Tiffany Gillette, Elizabeth and Nick Adimey, Natalie and Chris Franks, and Bradley Stewart; and great-grandchildren, Madeline, Kalia Kole, Cierra, Melody, Kadence, Kolt, Denver, Keilen, Kingston and Irelynn. 

Celebration of Life service was held Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Broad Street Church of Christ, Mineola.
