Precinct Two constable Kelly Smith reports a busy September and October for his office.

September 2018

45 civil papers were served, attempted and/or processed.

Assisted Quitman PD with a K9 search.

3 K9 presentations for citizens.

2 assists for the Sheriff’s Office on disturbances.

Assist DPS with a K9 search.

5 K9 searches with Mineola PD.

2 K9 house searches.

Disturbance call on CR 2210.

Warrant of arrest served.

Interviews were conducted with several citizens related to narcotic trafficking, burglaries and thefts in the area.

Citations were issued for offenses directly related to public safety.

Building checks were continued, and continued distributing door hangers so that citizens know their businesses are being checked.

Worked and patrolled precinct county roads. Patrol was enhanced in the Golden and Lake Holbrook area and numerous contacts were made with citizens.

Numerous vehicles were checked at the Lake Holbrook area.

Firearms classes/defensive tactics classes were held in Mineola for Wood County and surrounding law enforcement agencies and for local churches for their safety.

Served as Justice of the Peace court bailiff throughout the month.

October 2018

19 civil papers were served, attempted and/or processed.

K9 presentation for the children at the Lone Star Learning Academy

Assisted the Sheriff’s Office with:

Two disturbances;

Located a suspected endangered child from Hawkins;

Conducted a courtesy transport for a suspicious person from Lake Holbrook;

Funeral escort.

Assisted the Mineola Police Department with:

4 police K9 searches;

Two disturbances;

An injured man at the motor lodge;

A suspected missing elderly man who was located;

Traffic control with a head-on collision on South Pacific.

Assisted Mineola ISD with:

A suspicious person;

Meet and greet with K9 Juma at Fitness Friday at the Primary School;

Assisted Winnsboro ISD Police Department with Red Ribbon Week with a K9 demonstration and presentation at the elementary and a K9 search at the high school.

Answered a call for horses out on FM 2422.

Answered a call and opened a vehicle for a lady at Panda Buffett.

Answered a call and opened a vehicle at the Post Office where a child was locked inside the vehicle.
