Pilot Club gifts caregivers
The 150 caregivers employed at UT Health Quitman received a pleasant surprise, some soothing hand cream to help combat their constant hand washing, donated by the Pilot Club of Quitman.
Fonda McBride, chairwoman of the club’s Pick-Me-Ups, which are used to uplift and reward caregivers, organized this surprise.
“There is no more deserving group of individuals than the frontline workers at hospitals, any day of the week,” she said. “During this time of crisis, they have earned our love and respect even more. We were thrilled to be able to do a little something for them.”
Each gift was decorated with a tag that read “Thank you for being a frontline warrior. Your services are truly appreciated.”
Deanna Henry, director of care management, and RN Tracy Whinery accepted the gift. Henry said, “On behalf of all the employees, we love our jobs and the people we serve. We don’t need any extra motivation, but it’s so heartwarming and appreciated when people notice. We thank the Pilot Club for this gift that will put a smile on everyone’s faces.”
