Pilot Club murder mystery returns

Posted

Ahoy Mateys! The Pilot Club of Mineola and the Lake Country Playhouse will be presenting a pirate-themed murder mystery and dinner on Saturday, March 26 at 6 p.m. at the Mineola Civic Center.  This will be the third annual partnership of the two organizations for a fundraiser.

“A Rum Murder” takes place in a notorious dockside tavern in Kingston, Jamaica called “The Buxom Buccaneer.” Patrons are invited to attend the pirate meeting and wear favorite pirate attire (optional).  Among the famous pirates attending are Ferdinand Broadside, Jasper Grapeshot, Cuban Ruben, Grisalda Hispanola and Sapphire Jane. Each table (team) will decide who is the murderer.

Doors will open at 5:30 with dinner at 6, giving extra time to explore the “Bucket” items donated by local businesses, Pilot members and friends. Some of the items include wine baskets, Adirondack chairs, a gift card basket, a fire pit, a Vera Bradley purse and a grill. A $2 ticket will give a chance to win one of these items.

Linda and Charles Fry are donating wine baskets and a vacation condo for the live auction. The Pilot Club will have beautiful wine stoppers, bottle openers and pens for sale. The MHS Anchor Club will again have purses for $20, and one winner will go home with a Coach purse donated by a friend of Pilot.

This fundraiser helps the Anchors to attend convention each year, as well as funds their service projects for the school and community.

Tables of six are $210; tables of eight are $280 or individuals for $35 must be made in advance by calling Diane at 903-343-7570. This includes dinner, the show and lots of fun!
