Pilot Club’s Annual Memory Walk scheduled Nov. 2

Posted

The Pilot Club of Mineola will host their Annual Alzheimer Memorial Walk on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 5:30 p.m. at the Mineola Civic Center.

Funds raised by the walk will be used to support local Pilot Club Alzheimer related projects and by the Alzheimer Association to fund research and support for caregivers in the Northeast Texas area.

There will be no T-shirts given this year and there will be no set amount required for walking. All donations will be appreciated.

Walkers registering as a group (clubs, businesses, schools, banks, etc.) should wear their organization’s shirt and the organization with the most walkers and the one raising the most money will be awarded a plaque commemorating the event. Animals (pets) on leashes may also be entered as a walker for the group.

A balloon release memorial ceremony will be held honoring those who have Alzheimer’s disease or have died as a result of it. Participants in the walk will be served hot dogs and chili at the end of the walk. For more information you can contact Betty Curbow at 903-569- 7097.
