Eight students graduated from the East Texas Police Academy Quitman campus on Nov. 17 at the Caroll Green Civic Center. The academy is held by the Quitman Police Department. Students spent 750 hours in class to graduate. On Nov. 20, they all passed their state test, Quitman Police Chief Kelly Cole said. Javier Amador, Anna Bailey, Mark Cockrell, Bradley Cox, Cole Hudson, Ryan Neville, Lindsey Price and Linda Williams all graduated from the academy. After graduating and passing their state test, they will search for jobs in law enforcement. About 250 people attended this graduation ceremony. The next police academy class will start Feb. 4.
