QES book fair ends March 1
Quitman Elementary School library will host a Scholastic Book Fair this week. The community is invited to attend.
The fair kicked off Monday and will be open daily through March 1 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Elementary Librarian Vicki Clark said the event helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.
Funds raised from the sale of books will help purchase books for the library.
A special family night was held Tuesday (Feb. 26) along with a music program performed by the second grade class.
On Thursday, February 28, the PTO will host a breakfast from 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. for kindergarten and first grade students to have breakfast with someone "Grand" and visit the book fair.
The book fair offers specially-priced books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles, new releases, adult bestsellers, and others from more than 100 publishers.
Customers at the book fair can also help the school build classroom libraries by purchasing books through the Classroom Wish List program.
Clark encourages everyone to "Come see what's new and help your child on their reading path."
The elementary school is located at 902 East Goode Street in Quitman.
