Quitman High School will present its annual fall musical, “Into the Woods,” begins with the first show Sunday at 2 p.m. and again that night at 7:30 p.m. The third performance will be Monday or Tuesday night at 7 p.m. (whichever night the volleyball team do not play their bi-district game).
“Into the Woods” is a twisted fairy tale by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine with lots of comical moments and fun songs. The musical is directed by Kristina Johnson and Terry McGonagill. Starring in the show are Jacob Day as the Baker, Molly Tanner as the Baker’s Wife, Abby Dobbs as Little Red Riding Hood, Nick Barnett as the Wolf, and Courtney Lambert as the Witch.
Also in the show are Aleigh Farnham as Rapunzel, Billy Brannon as Rapunzel’s Prince, Makalya Mitchell and Riley Cameron as Cinderella, Jeremy Peek as Cinderella’s Prince, Ashton Midkiff as Jack, and Lyndsey Barnett and Baylee Eberhart as Jack’s Mother.
Sydney White tells the story as the Narrator, Elise Woodruff plays Little Red’s Grandmother, Kinsey McFerren is Cinderella’s stepmother, while Madalyn Spears, Emma Vanbecelaere, Kaytlen Eiles and Madelynn Whitehurst play Cinderella’s stepsisters.
Also appearing in the show are River Chaney as the Mysterious Man and Cinderella’s Father, Kaiti Kelley as Cinderella’s Mother, and Courtney McCollum as the Steward.
Technical positions in the play are Jayson Smith, manager of lighting and sound technicians; Cody Frazier, backstage tech manager; Halee Hightower, lighting design; Ty Holland and Kynlee Love, sound design and technicians; KK Barnett, Keeley Glidewell, and Lucy Brannon, on stage projections and fog; and Brenden Mattox, stage hand.
Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door. Also, the Drama Mommas will be on hand to sign individuals and businesses up for Friends of the Theatre memberships.
