Quitman ISD trustees Monday discussed the district’s goals and indicators used to measure success in achieving those goals.
The three goals are as follows: QISD has monitoring systems and supports to ensure appropriate academic growth and preparation of all students; recruit and retain quality teachers; foster a positive work environment for professional growth, teamwork and high morale.
Superintendent Rhonda Turner presented polling data from teachers on how satisfied they are with their work environment and other aspects of the job. Trustees also spoke about the need to be competitive in regard to recruiting and retaining teachers.
Turner mentioned having exit interviews with the teachers not returning to QISD, and to keep track of the data for the future.
In other business, trustees approved a four-year contract with Document Solutions for district-wide copiers.
