Quilts of Valor to be presented to veterans

Stitchin’ Heaven will honor 10 local service men and women Saturday at 2 p.m. with the presentation of handmade Quilts of Valor to thank them for their service and sacrifice.

Each veteran will be recognized individually, with remarks made by Quilts of Valor representative Suzanne DiCarlo and Stitchin’ Heaven co-founder Clay Luttrell. Additional festivities will include door prizes, refreshments, exclusive in-store promotions and opportunities to discover more ways to give back for Veteran’s Day.

Earlier this month, Stitchin’ Heaven opened the doors to its brand new 17,500 sq. ft. facility in Quitman. Saturday’s ceremony is in partnership with the Quilts of Valor Foundation, which has awarded more than 230,000 quilts to veterans since its inception in 2003 and it is the second annual event at Stitchin’ Heaven.

Members of the community interested in attending the ceremony may RSVP by emailing info@stitchinheaven.com or calling 903-760-7379.
