On Jan. 12-15 Quitman FFA members traveled to the Fort Worth Livestock Show to show their ag mechanics projects.

An entrance gate built by Kathryn Hudman, Marcus Pollard and Lexie Wilson placed first in its class.

Team members and their projects also included Lane Blalock, Ethan Hill, Cody Frazier and Jordyn Blalock who built a 24-foot gooseneck lowboy trailer and Langdon Bautista, Korbin Mcgee, Layton Brown and Curtis Perkins who built a 22-foot utility trailer.

“All of the students did great and earned a blue ribbon for their superior workmanship,” said agriculture teacher Brant Lee.

Students participating in this contest utilize skills from across the curriculum and apply them by constructing a final project. The team will travel to Houston March 15-18 to compete.
