Quitman celebrating homecoming
It is Homecoming 2020 at Quitman High School this week. Activities have been scaled back somewhat by the advent of COVID-19, but there will be traditional homecoming royalty and the naming of homecoming queen and king prior to the football game. Homecoming activities will begin at 7 p.m. prior to the 7:30 p.m. kick-off at Bud Moody Stadium.
For the first time in many years, due to COVID-19 protocol, there will be no homecoming parade and downtown pep rally.
Senior class princesses seeking the queen’s crown are Kaitlyn Barnett, Alantis Derouin, Cristina Ramirez, Lucy Brannon and Kaiti Kelley.
Senior class princes vying to be king are Aiden Corrior, Landon Peckham, Arturo Delgadillo, Hayden Cook and Bobby Irwin.
The junior class is represented by duke and duchess Wyatt Hightower and Brooklyn Marcee. The sophomore class duke and duchess representatives are Levi Thompson and Reagan Hornaday, with the freshman class nominees for duke and duchess are Carlos Flores and Abby Day.
