Quitman girls, A-G boys take title at Mineola golf tourney
The Quitman girls golf team captured the Mineola Invitational Golf Tournament on Monday, March 18, while the Lady Yellowjackets took second place. The tourney was played at Mineola Country Club.
Alba-Golden High School took home the boys trophy, and Quitman coach Mark Fatheree’s boys team secured second place.
The golf season is building toward the April 8 district tournament at the Links at Land’s End. Alba-Golden and Mineola teams competed in the March 25 Alba-Golden Invitational at Land’s End. Quitman played at the Canton Invitational hosted at the Van Zandt Country Club.
All three schools will play in the regional warm-up tourney April 1-2 at the Oak Hurst Country Club in Bullard. The boys tee off on April 1 and the girls on April 2.
