Roundup: Volleyball
Mineola
The Mineola Lady Jackets swept the Gladewater Bears, 31-29, 25-18, 25-17, in their season opener Tuesday.
The Lady Jackets competed in the Van tournament during the weekend. Mineola defeated All Saints, Tyler Chapel Hill and lost to Sunnyvale. The Lady Jackets lost to Paris and Mt. Pleasant Saturday.
Mineola is now 3-3 on the season. The Lady Jackets host Westwood Tuesday and will compete in the Wills Point Tournament this weekend.
Alba-Golden
The Alba-Golden Lady Panthers swept the Union Grove Lions, 25-15, 25-23, 25-14, in the opening match of the season.
The Lady Panthers dropped two games this past weekend at the Golden Chick Classic. Alba-Golden defeated Crandall and lost to Sherman and Weatherford.
The Lady Panthers are now 2-2 and host Big Sandy Tuesday and visit Brownsboro this Friday.
Quitman
The Quitman Lady Bulldogs swept the New Diana Eagles, 26-24, 25-10, 25-17, in the opening match of the season.
The Lady Bulldogs competed at the Van Tournament, winning all of their games and the tournament championship.
Quitman sits at 6-0 on the season and will host Trinidad Tuesday and will travel to Pine Tree this Friday.
Hawkins
The Lady Hawks lost their opening match against the Grand Saline Indians, 21-25, 24-26, and 25-14, in their season opener.
Hawkins also dropped their match to the Troup Tigers Thursday bringing their record to 0-2 on the season.
The Lady Hawks host Harmony Tuesday and will compete in the West Rusk Tournament this weekend.
