Quitman house fire cause could be electrical
The cause of an April 22 house fire that killed one person in the 900 block of Winnsboro Street in Quitman remained undetermined Tuesday, but appears to be electrical in nature, according to the Wood County Fire Marshal Office.
Officials were still performing tests to determine the exact cause of the blaze, Wood County Fire Marshal Tully Davidson said. The victim’s body was sent last week to Tyler for an autopsy, and the person had not been identified as of Monday.
