Quitman HS cross country teams win
The Quitman boys and girls cross country teams each came in first place as they hosted a meet on the QHS campus last Thursday.
In the boy’s competition Quitman came in first, Union Grove second and Winnsboro third. The girls were first with Union Grove second and Winnsboro third.
The boy’s team consist of Brian Jimenez, Matthew Smith, Dakota Jimenez, Weston Pence, Christian Plata, Diego Osornio and Jack Tannebaum. The girl’s team is Madyson Pence, Addison Marcee, Alexa Flores, Citaly Flores, Cristal Plata, Mykenzy Miller and Bonnie VanderSchaff.
The Quitman Junior High girl’s team also won first place ahead of Cumby, Winnsboro and Alba-Golden.
The number of cross country teams was limited this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
