Drawing will have very large canvas
Mineola Main Street is partnering with the Mineola School District to make Mineola a more photogenic city.
Main Street has announced the beginning of a contest for Mineola students from kindergarten through 12th grade to draw a picture that represents Mineola. The winning art will become a mural, with some artistic license, by local artist Garland Harris on the west wall of the Factory Connection building.
Holly Herring, community development director, said that the building’s owners, Tommy and Brandy Warren, “are real excited to have that artwork on their wall.”
The middle and high school art classes are part of the projects and drawings should be submitted to Mrs. Callison, Mrs. Self, Mrs. Palmer and Mr. Ray.
