It was a windy week here at Lake Fork.  The water temperatures ranged from 66 to 73 degrees and the water clarity in the upper creeks is still stained.   The water in the main lake is lightly stained. 

The bass fishing was very good this week with many fish being caught on topwater baits and Zoom watermelon/red flukes until about 8:30 a.m. The good ole white buzz bait, Chug Bug and the Yellow Magic worked good in the early mornings. After the topwater bite was over, we went to the Zoom Fluke on a split shot rig, it worked off-and-on the rest of the day. When the Fluke bite slows down, go to a Zoom watermelon/redBaby Brush Hog rigged on a ¼-ounce shaky head jig. Make sure you dye the tails of the Baby Brush Hog chartreuse and work it really slow. 

The white bass are still in the back of creeks and spawning. Your best bet to catch them is a minnow rig or a crappie jig tipped with a minnow  The big females are in 4 to 6 foot of water.

The crappie anglers are still catching good numbers of crappies in both shallow and deep water. You can find them in 3 to 4 foot of water or in 11 to 18 foot of water. Small 1/8 ounce white and chartreuse Bubba’s Baits Crappie jigs work the best.  Always take along a ¼ pound of minnows for back up. Make sure you keep your receipt for the minnows.

The good catfish are being caught in 5 to 8 foot of water using minnows or cut bait. Minnows are working the best. Look for isolated trees and you will find them.
