Quitman Police Report, Oct. 15-23
Oct. 15
Lt. Mike Chilson initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling the wrong way in a one way zone. Betty Amason Fergason, 71, of Quitman was arrested for driving while intoxicated, third or more.
Oct. 17
Cpl. Austin Milbourn initiated a traffic stop on Lance Road after observing a vehicle fail to maintain a single lane. Betty Amason Fergason, 71, of Quitman was arrested for the offense of driving while intoxicated, third or more.
Oct. 18
Officer Joe Andrade was dispatched to a residence on Winnsboro Street in reference to a disturbance. Judith Loera, 58, of Quitman was arrested for Class C assault.
Oct. 19
A call was received from Brian Toliver Ford reporting damage to one of their vehicles. A pre-owned Explored suffered what appeared to be a possible hit from a BB gun. The damage is estimated at $325.
Oct. 21
Cpl. Milbourn and School Resource Officer Jim Rapp executed an arrest warrant on N. Winnsboro Street. A male juvenile was taken into custody and delivered to Juvenile Probation.
A woman advised her juvenile daughter had left home two days prior and wished to report her as a runaway. The juvenile was located and brought to the police department for juvenile processing.
Oct. 22
Lt. Chilson and SRO Jim Rapp responded to Quitman Elementary School in response to a report of a third grade student causing a disturbance. The child was released to his uncle. An incident report was completed for documentation purposes only.
A call was received from a crisis hotline requesting a welfare check on a subject who was possibly suicidal. The subject agreed to be transported to the Andrews Center for treatment.
Oct. 23
A call was received regarding a minor traffic accident on East Goode Street. There were no injuries; the damage was minor and both parties agreed to exchange information.
