Dec. 19

Corporal Austin Milbourn received a call from a resident on Third St. who stated two vehicles had been broken in to. Nothing was deemed to be missing. At the man’s request, an incident report was completed for documentation purposes and extra patrol was arranged.  

Dec. 20

Corporal Austin Milbourn was notified of an attempted burglary of a coin-operated machine at Dirty Dawg Carwash. Unknown person(s) attempted to drill out the lock on a vacuum machine but were unable to access the coin container. Extra patrol was arranged. 

Dec. 24

Officer Joe Andrade was dispatched to a residence on N. Winnsboro St. for a disturbance in progress. A woman advised that her brother was drunk and had hit her mother. Thomas Gary Falcon, 57, was arrested and charged with Class C assault.

Officer Linda Williams was patrolling in the area of CR 3105 when she noticed mail scattered on the road and in the ditch. Picking up the mail, Williams noticed the mail belonged to four addresses on Lance Road. Some of the mail had been opened. The recipients were notified and the mail was turned over to the post office.

Dec. 26

Officer Corbin Hanner took a report of disorderly conduct involving a large group of juveniles at Bud Moody Stadium. Two bladed weapons were found in the area although none of the juveniles admitted knowledge of them. The parents/guardians were contacted and the juveniles were released. Juvenile probation was made aware of the situation. 

Officer Hanner responded to a report of a physical disturbance on Jeanell St. Hanner noted that there was a large amount of broken items inside the residence. Charles Richard Menard, 58, of Quitman was arrested and transported to jail. He is charged with assault causing bodily injury, family violence.

Officer Hanner initiated a traffic stop on N. Winnsboro St. after observing a vehicle with no license plate light. Hanner noticed an odor of marijuana. An occupant admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle and claimed ownership. The contraband was confiscated and the passenger was cited. The driver was arrested on outstanding Van Zandt County warrants. Aron Dan Grissom, 34, of Grand Saline, was transported to jail without incident. 

Officer Jim Rapp responded to a call from a man who claimed he had loaned a pickup to his brother who was refusing to return it. After speaking with both parties, Rapp determined the case to be civil. Both agreed to try and work out a solution.

Dec. 30

Officer Hanner took a report of burglary of a habitation from a resident of Bonita St. According to the complainant, cash and jewelry were taken. The woman also gave information regarding a probable suspect.
