Quitman Police Report, Jan. 5-14

Officer Linda Williams issued a criminal trespass warning to a Mineola man after the store manager at the Exxon station on Goode St. reported that the man was hanging out at the store, acting crazy and being very rude to customers. 

Jan. 7
Lt. Mike Chilson took a call from an employee of Red Dome Smokehouse who advised she had found a woman’s purse. After retrieving the purse, Chilson conducted an inventory and used information from a driver’s license inside to contact the owner. 

Jan. 10
Cpl. Austin Milbourn responded to a call from UT Health emergency department reporting that a patient possibly had marijuana in his possession. Terry Lynn Pugh, 42, of Yantis was found to have marijuana as well as methamphetamine in his possession. Pugh was not arrested on scene due to his medical condition. The drugs were seized and warrants will be sought for the charges. 

Officer Joe Andrade was dispatched to an apartment on Tommie St. in reference to a disturbance. Andrade found a male subject outside the residence. The man advised he and his wife got into a verbal altercation after the wife discovered texts from another woman on the man’s phone. The woman left the residence prior to Andrade’s arrival. 

Jan. 14
Officer Corbin Hanner initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with a defective stop lamp. Hanner made contact with the car’s single occupant who advised his driver’s license was suspended. The driver had a work permit; however, it was expired. The driver also admitted to having a small amount of marijuana in the car. Hanner confiscated the contraband and cited the man for driving while license invalid and possession of drug paraphernalia.
