Opioids stolen from Scott’s

On Oct. 30 at 2:20 a.m. Scott’s Pharmacy was burglarized by two unknown subjects. Entry was made by prying open the front door with a large crowbar. Some 11,000 pills of hydrocodone and oxycodone were stolen. The next day, Quitman PD was contacted with information regarding several burglaries in which the method of entry and suspects were consistent with the Scott’s Pharmacy burglary. 

Cpl. Austin Milbourn contacted Ennis PD and information was exchanged which led to the possible identity and location of suspects living in Corsicana. Corsicana PD Narcotics Division served two search warrants on the suspects and located 7,500 pills of hydrocodone that were linked to Scott’s Pharmacy. 

Along with the hydrocodone, 22 other prescription pill bottles were identified as belonging to Scott’s Pharmacy. Arrest warrants for the suspects are pending. 

Oct. 18

Officer Joe Andrade responded to a call from a woman on Smith St. who stated her teenage daughter was mad and had hit and cursed her. The complainant stated she did not wish to file criminal charges. An incident report was completed for documentation purposes.

Oct. 24 

Officer Andrade was dispatched to a Lane Street residence where a woman reported her husband had hit and shoved her and then left the residence with her children. The woman stated she did not wish to file criminal charges. 

Nov. 1

Officer Corbin Hanner took a report of burglary on Zola Street. The property’s manager advised someone had gained access into the empty house. The suspect caused about $800 in damages.

Nov. 3

Cpl. Milbourn received a report of a reckless driver. Milbourn located the vehicle and, after witnessing it swerving several times, a traffic stop was initiated. The driver was in possession of an open container of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication. After testing, Marshall Cary Murphy, 26, of Murchison was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger under 15 years of age. 

Cpl. Milbourn was dispatched to a Clark Street residence in reference to a missing person. The complainant stated that her husband had gone to WalMart in Mineola several hours earlier and had not returned home. Milbourn contacted the man who stated that he was okay and did not wish to go home because he and his wife were arguing.

Nov. 5

Lt. Mike Chilson was dispatched to the hospital in reference to a physical disturbance involving a suicidal subject. Chilson learned that the suicidal subject was a juvenile female attempting to run away from her mother. The mother was able to gain control of her daughter and take her back to the vehicle. Lts. Chilson and John Farmer escorted to juvenile back into the ER for treatment. 

Lt. Chilson was dispatched to the hospital in reference to a CPS referral. Chilson learned that ER staff was concerned about the safety of a juvenile. Chilson contacted the on-call CPS case worker who arrived later.

Officer Hanner was dispatched to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on SH 154 W. The incident occurred outside the city limits and was forwarded to DPS. 

Officer Hanner was dispatched to the 500 block of N. Winnsboro in reference to an inquest.

Nov. 6

School Resource Officer Jim Rapp was advised by QISD staff of a high school student who caused a disturbance inside a classroom and was attempting to leave the campus. Rapp made contact with the student and during their conversation, the student made suicidal comments. For the safety of the student, Rapp transported the student to the hospital for treatment under an emergency detention warrant.

Nov. 7

Cpl. Milbourn was dispatched to a W. Lane St. residence for a verbal dispute over community property. Milbourn was met by a female who stated her husband and another family member “had both put hands on her.”

All parties were separated and interviews were conducted. During the investigation, Milbourn learned that the complainant was actually the aggressor. 

Shalene Hendrix, 28, of Quitman, was arrested for assault family violence causing bodily injury. 

Lt. Chilson was dispatched to Adult Probation in reference to a suicidal subject. Chilson met with a male probation officer who stated that a 68-year-old female was making suicidal statements. After a lengthy conversation, the woman agreed to be transported to the hospital for treatment.
