Sept. 24

Lt. Investigator John Farmer received a report from School Resource Officer Jim Rapp regarding a student who was claiming to be a pimp, a gang member, and a drug dealer. He also claimed to carry a gun off-campus for protection. The student was found to be in possession of a knife, cigarettes and a lighter. Lt. Farmer was unable to substantiate any of the student’s claims due to a lack of evidence.

Sept. 25

Lt. Mike Chilson overheard radio traffic regarding a runaway who was last seen in Quitman. Chilson responded to the location in Quitman where he was familiar with the occupants. A female at the location stated she had last seen the runaway earlier in the day walking down the street with two other girls. Later in the evening, while at the QHS bonfire, Chilson was approached by a teenage female who stated she wished to turn herself in. Questioning the female, Chilson learned she was the runaway everyone had been searching for. Chilson took the girl into custody and later turned her over to county deputies.

Sept. 27

Cpl. Austin Milbourn was contacted by a man who stated his wife was threatening him. The man advised that two days prior, while his wife was manic and possibly high on methamphetamines, she made a statement that she “had people watching him with guns.” He also advised his wife was seeing “gremlins” in the yard. He wanted the incident documented and believed his wife would be home soon. Milbourn advised the man to call if there were any problems once his wife returned.

Sept. 29

Officer Corbin Hanner took a report of a gas drive off from Super Stop Exxon. The clerk advised a man had pumped $43.47 in gas before driving off. The man had left a fleet card with the clerk in order to have to pump turned on but drove off without coming back inside. Hanner was able to locate a phone number on the card but was unable to make contact. This case was forwarded to Lt. Farmer for investigation.

Sept. 30

Lt. Chilson was dispatched to the parking lot at Family Dollar for a minor accident. The complainant advised his vehicle was struck when a newer model SUV attempted to back out of the stall next to him. The man also advised he spoke briefly with the female driver of the SUV and they were going to exchange information. Instead, the woman drove away. This case was forwarded for continued investigation.

Oct. 2

Officer Hanner and Cpl. Milbourn responded to First Baptist Church in response to a report of an assault. It was determined that the assault was a result of an incident which had occurred earlier at school. This case has been forwarded for investigation.

Oct. 3

Lt. Chilson became aware of a situation in which two juvenile males, 14 and 16, were living without adult supervision. According to witnesses, the mother has been seen only dropping off food at the residence a few times in the last three months. Witnesses also stated there have been several kids hanging out at the apartment, smoking cigarettes, vaping and possibly smoking marijuana. The boys were also seen breaking in to a vacant apartment and are often home during school hours. This case has been forwarded to CPS.
