Quitman runs past Alba-Golden
The Quitman Bulldogs evened their district record at 2-2 by defeating Alba-Golden 61-45 on the road Jan. 8. The Bulldogs were sparked by three players who scored in double figures: Trey Berry with 19 points, Jace Reid, 14, and Aiden Corrior, 10.
The win brought the Bulldog season record to 14-10 and district slate to 2-2 going into this week’s game against Lone Oak.
The Bulldogs have a bye this Friday night before taking on district leader Edgewood on Tuesday Jan. 25.
Berry also had four assists, four rebounds, four deflections and three steals while Reid cleared the boards with eight rebounds, four assists, a pair of steals, one block and six deflections. Corrior was a force on the boards, bringing down seven rebounds.
Rounding out the stats for the Bulldogs were: Luke Pruden, eight points; Riley Flanagan, five points and a team high of nine rebounds; Cody Hawley two points and a pair of rebounds; Hunter Gilbreath, two points, five rebounds, one assist and one deflection; and Ben Burroughs, one point, an assist, a steal and three rebounds.
