Quitman students have fun learning about dinosaurs
Quitman Elementary and Junior High students and community members got the opportunity to learn about dinosaurs during an interactive event at the QES gym recently.
“Dinosaurs Live” brought dinosaur exhibits, face painting, a slide, puzzles, concessions and other fun activities. The event gave the students the chance to learn about the ancient creatures while also having some fun.
QES Principal Mary Ann Nichols said the students had a great time and there was a wonderful turnout.
“I think they primarily had curiosity to learn about dinosaurs and I can’t say how ‘much’ they might remember, but they had a fabulous time. It was geared toward the younger students,” Nichols said. “There was some information at each station which parents could read. We always want to support learning in whatever form it takes.”
