River authority allowing Lake Fork level to rise
All above water repair work has been completed at Lake Fork, and the Sabine River Authority will no longer hold the lake level at 397 feet.
The lake was lowered to allow repairs to the soil cement along the upstream side of the dam, and the time period was extended when additional under water repairs were identified.
The rate of rise of the lake will depend on rainfall and inflow from upstream tributaries.
Underwater repair work will continue for the foreseeable future but can be conducted as the reservoir is allowed to fill.
Lake side property owners should continue to inspect and make necessary repairs to boathouses, piers, retaining walls and related structures.
Construction approval applications for this type of activity may be obtained from the Lake Fork Division Office (903-878-2262).
