Rotary plans recycling event as fundraiser to asisst community

Got unwanted electronics lying around the house or office?

Mineola Rotary Club can take them off your hands for a donation and use the proceeds to benefit the community.

The recycling event is planned Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Methodist Ministries Center at 612 N. Newsom St.

Proceeds help fund high school scholarships, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Mineola Memorial Library, literacy and the worldwide polio eradication project.

Cameras, computers, entertainment electronics, lithium batteries, multimedia, office equipment, portable electronics and video games and systems are among items that will be accepted.
