A search for a wanted subject in the Lake Holbrook area Jan. 29 led the Wood County Sheriff’s Office to the recovery of several stolen items, illegal narcotics, weapons and identity cards.

According to the department’s social media page, Capt. Mike Chilson, Sgt. Billy Hill, Sgt. Justin Bowring, Sgt. Heather Bailey, Sgt. Austin Milbourn, Sgt. Jeremy Smith and Deputy Jaclyn Skinner continued the previous week’s investigation on the whereabouts of wanted person Christopher Minhinnet.

Information was received that Minhinnet was possibly staying on a property in the Lake Holbrook area. WCSO with Constable Prec. 2 Kelly Smith, canine Mata, Jeff Hammonds and the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force went to the location to search for Minhinnet. While on scene, law enforcement recovered items reported stolen to include three trucks, one car, one trailer and one travel trailer.

A subsequent search led to the seizure 58 grams of methamphetamine and seven grams of heroin.

Officials discovered four weapons, one homemade suppressor, 14 drivers’ licenses, four social security cards, 23 credit cards and 41 titles to vehicles.

Smith County Constable Prec. 5 Jeff McClenny was requested to bring his drone. He was able to assist in the search of the property for any other items that could have been hidden further into the wooded area.

The agencies that the items were reported stolen from have been notified. The whereabouts of the person(s) involved in the recovered property is unknown, however the investigation is still ongoing.
