Shrek The Musical heads into final weekend

If you missed the summer musical by Lake Country Playhouse, Shrek The Musical, you still have three more chances. The final performances will be this weekend, Aug. 9, 10 and 11, at the Historic Select Theater in Mineola.
Based on the DreamWorks box office blockbuster, the production transports theatre patrons to Duloc Swamp and beyond as Shrek and his sometimes annoying sidekick Donkey wander on a quest through just about every fairy tale ever written. The show is directed by Tonya Slayton and stars Nelson Bond as Shrek, Austin Sandy as Donkey, Christie Miza as Fiona, and Koerth Ragsdale as Lord Farquaad. Also in the production are Emalee Chappa (who also served as choreographer, Dena Means, Courtney Titsworth, Daniel Robinson; Nathan Robinson; Ashlynn Blankenship; Brittnie Christopherson; Angelina Bazaldua; Meelah Amason, Kaleb Cole, Gracie Hass, Crystal Arcand, Natalie Woodcock, Jackson Duncan, Mia Bazaldua, Aubrey Blackmon, Avery Blackmon, Avery Craig, Taylor Craver, Sarah Sundholm and Mindy Mize.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for students. A discount is available for groups of 10 or more. Reservations are a must, as the performances had a high rate of attendance the opening weekend. You may reserve tickets by calling the box office at 903-569-2300.
