Saxophone quartet plans Mt. Vernon concert Saturday

Posted

Mount Vernon Music will present the Oasis Saxophone Quartet in concert on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in MVM Hall.

Known for their seamless tone and brilliant technique, the Oasis Quartet will present original music and arrangements of classical masterworks by Bach, Dvořák and Mozart.

Their playing has been described as “brilliant, strong, exciting” (Saxophone Journal), and noted for “even passagework, uniformity of tone, seamless line” (Fanfare) and “impeccable technique and…sweet, pure tone” (AllMusic).

The Oasis Quartet has emerged out of a shared goal of interpreting dynamic repertoire at the highest level. Founded in 2006, the members of Oasis - Nathan Nabb, James Bunte, Dave Camwell, and James Romain - are each highly regarded concert artists in their own right. They appear regionally, nationally, and internationally as chamber musicians, clinicians, orchestral musicians, solo recitalists and adjudicators. They can be heard in performances with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, as well as a number of regional orchestras.

Tickets are $10 for MVM members, $15 for non-members, and $5 for college students with valid ID. Children’s admission through high school is free. (8th grade and younger must be accompanied by an adult ticketholder.)
