Just a week after her season ended in the UIL state regional quarter finals Mineola’s Kiley Banks will continue to be a Yellowjacket but now she will play at LeTourneau University in Longview on the softball team.
Banks was a multi-sport athlete playing volleyball and softball her senior year. As a volleyball player she stood out as one of her team’s best defensive players and was a four year varsity player at Libero.
On the softball diamond she proved to be her team’s best lead-off hitter and also one of the best middle infielders in the region. Banks will likely play either shortstop or second base as she did for Coach Chandler Tuchstone this past season in Mineola.
She helped lead the Lady Jackets to a regional a district crown this year.
The LeTourneau Yellowjackets compete in the NCAA Division III American Southwest Conference. While Banks will attend school on Longview she will be playing locally all over the state in cities like Tyler, Marshall, Irving, Richardson, Belton, Abilene and Austin.
LeTourneau is coming off a 15-23 season where they went 11-19 in conference play.
