Filing period for the March 1 party primaries gets underway Saturday, Nov. 13 and runs through Monday, Dec. 13.
All the major statewide offices are being contested along with U.S. and state representatives and state senate.
At the county level, offices to be decided include the county judge, district attorney, district and county clerks, county treasurer, the four justices of the peace and county commissioners in Precincts 2 and 4.
So far County Treasurer Becky Burford has announced she will not be seeking reelection after three terms.
Among those who have announced they will see reelection are District Attorney Angela Albers, County Judge Lucy Hebron and Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Jerry Parker. All are Republicans.
Parker is seeking a third term.
Albers is seeking her first full elected term. She served as the appointed DA for almost two years following the resignation of Jim Wheeler in 2018 and subsequently won election in 2020 to complete that term.
Hebron is seeking her second term.
Candidates file with their respective party chairs.
