JCCs Randle leads nation

Javion Randle of Jarvis Christian College (Texas) piled up more hits en route to the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Baseball Player of the Week award for April 11-17.

Randle, the national leader in batting average at .497 this season, went 10-for-17 (.588) last week as the Bulldogs constructed a four-game sweep over Wiley College (Texas). The senior rightfielder opened the series on Thursday with a 4-for- 5 outing including a home run and six RBIs as JCC won, 14-6.

Randle homered again in the second game and drove in two runs to spark an 8-2 victory. The Houston native capped the se¬ries on Friday with a pair of hits and three RBIs in the finale, a 10-8 win over the Wildcats.

For the week, Randle scored six runs while collecting 11 RBIs.

He is second in the nation in hits with 78, and he is third in the RRAC with 43 RBIs. JCC is in third place in the RRAC at 18-10 in conference play with a record of 22- 23 overall.

This is the third RRAC Player of Randle.
