Storm disaster declaration includes Wood County
Wood County was among 16 counties in a disaster declaration issued by Gov. Greg Abbott Monday as a result of severe weather Sunday night.
High winds in the Alba area led to Wood County’s inclusion.
In addition to providing any and all state resources to local officials, this declaration will waive certain regulations, allowing utility companies to bring in out-of-state resources to assist in restoring power as quickly as possible.
