Suspect who fled while shooting at police arrested
Mineola police announced this morning that Tony Ybarra, 27, the subject of a manhunt since early last week, has been arrested.
He was arrested without incident in Conroe Thursday at 8:22 p.m.
Ybarra fled on foot following a traffic stop May 25 not far from the police station on Greenville Hwy. While on the run down Johnson St., he fired at officers who were pursuing on foot. None were injured.
Mineola police thanked the following agencies for their assistance: Winnsboro police, Quitman police, Hawkins police, Mineola ISD police, Constable Kelly Smith, Rains County Sheriff, Wood County Sheriff and Texas DPS.
