Tattoo parlor move OK’d by zoning commission
Mineola’s only tattoo parlor cleared the first hurdle in relocating Monday.
Kiss of Death Ink plans to relocate from 421 E. Broad St. to 214 N. Newsom.
The Planning and Zoning Commission gave unanimous approval to a special use permit Monday.
The matter must also pass the Mineola City Council, which meets May 22.
No one spoke in opposition to the business during a public hearing.
Planning director David Madsen said 13 notices were sent to adjacent property owners.
Parking was questioned and it was noted that there are ample spots in the back and north side for employees, leaving spaces in the front for customers.
Signs will be placed alerting motorists that the spaces are reserved for the business.
The P&Z also approved three replats, which also will go to the council.
Two are in the Park Central Addition for shifting lot lines and one is for property to be annexed on Minwood for a residential lot.
