• The Mobile Workforce Center will be in Mineola again today (Wednesday as well as on the next three Wednesdays) in the Brookshire’s parking lot from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They will be closed from 12 to 1 p.m. for lunch.

• The Wood County Extension Office is offering its Friend to Friend women’s health program tomorrow, Thursday, from noon until 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Meadowbrook Street in Mineola. It’s free and there are exhibits, motivational speakers and a delicious light lunch.

• Texas Farm Bureau Insurance will host a Mineola Chamber of Commerce mixer and ribbon cutting tomorrow (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m. The office is at 6166 S. State Highway 37, Mineola, across the road from the rest area.

• The Quitman WIC Staff will mark World Breastfeeding Month Friday with a celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. honoring breastfeeding and pregnant women. The whole family is invited and there will be door prizes, refreshments and games. The Quitman WIC is at 1020 East Goode Street. For more information call 903-763-4123.

• The state sales tax holiday for school clothes and supplies is this weekend. See story for more details.

• The fundraising breakfast for the Bread of Life food pantry in Mineola is Saturday at the First United Methodist Church’s Ministries Center.

• The Quitman Farmers Market is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brian Toliver Ford. The market is being held every second Saturday.

• Little Hope Baptist Church is having a three-day revival beginning Sunday 13 at 6 p.m. and continuing Monday, and Tuesday at 6 p.m. nightly.

• On Monday the Wood County Extension Office will begin a series of diabetes classes at 10 a.m. at the county office in Quitman. See story inside for details.

• Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Bryan Oakes is inviting all Quitman fans to Meet the Bulldogs Monday at Bud Moody Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend and meet all of the fall athletic squads and band along with several new coaches.
